Transport Hub To Come Up On 143ha, To Cost Around ₹267cr

Indore: Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s commercial, medical and education hub, is also set to develop a Transport Hub as Union government has approved a project of Indore Development Authority (IDA) to develop a 6.2km road to connect Indore-Ujjain Highway with the Bypass through AB Road along with facilities including parking lot, truck yard and rest house to offer amenities of loading-unloading bays, go-downs, service centre, workshop and banking.
According to, the authority, under PM-Gatishakti Scheme, has received an approval from the Union government to develop a project called ‘Transport Hub’ in 143.04 hectares area. “Of this, the Transport Park, with facilities including parking lot, truck yard and rest house to offer amenities of loading-unloading bays, go-downs, service center, workshop and banking will be developed in around 11 hectares,” he said.
He added that the Transport Park will be developed at a cost Rs 72 Crore while the entire project of Transport Hub will cost around Rs 267.65 Crore. Of this, the central government has sanctioned a fund of Rs 50 Crore to IDA for the project.
“As part of the project, a 45-meter wide MR-12 connecting from Indore-Ujjain highway to Bypass via AB Road will be constructed” he said, adding that IDA has started approaching the farmers for acquiring their lands for the project of 143.04 hectares. “As per the contract, the farmers will be given 50% developed plots of their farmlands while IDA will develop and sell plots in 30% areas and proposed amenities including roads in remaining 20% areas” he said.The CEO said that tenders for the entire project have been floated while the work has also been initiated.
